Rafaeel is a Assistant Researcher at SIGS, where he conducts research on innovative solutions to environmental challenges and supports the organization's scientific research initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Biotechnology (Hons) from Taylor's University, Malaysia, graduating in 2026.

Rafaeel has completed an internship at the National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia, where he contributed to research on bioplastics and the use of microbes in seagrass-based fertilizer production. At SIGS, he continues work on bioplastics carrying out laboratory experiments, analysing research data, and prepares reports to support ongoing evidence-based solutions for sustainable island communities.
