Iffath is a Senior Researcher at SIGS, holding a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Monash University Malaysia and a Master of Education from MNU.

Her work at SIGS applies life science research to nature-based solutions for climate change, with a focus on the Maldivian context. She currently works on biomaterial discovery through biomass valorization. Her research interests span the environmental, health, and social sciences, reflecting a commitment to eclectic, lifelong learning.

Outside the lab, she enjoys reading, being out in nature and gardening.
